Mind blowing performance on American Idol.
Currently reading about “passion”. What is passion and why do I even bother?
I know very well that the only way I can be happy is when I see myself working everyday to promote my passion. I know the luckiest people in the world are those who are quietly focused and working patiently with a radiant internal force. People call this the ‘force’ within you. Your Passion. Your life purpose.
One of the questions I was asked in search for my passion is – If you can have your way, how do you envision a perfect world?
My answer is this:
I dream of a world where there is freedom not just for the rich, beautiful, straight; not just for the ones with right skin color or the right language; not just for the powerful or the religious; not just for some; not just for the majority; but freedom for every ONE.
Freedom from?
1. Bullying, threat and intimidation
2. Thought suppression
3. Religion
4. Racial discrimination
5. Coercive taxation
If you’re at a point in your life that you question where you’re headed, I suggest you read this website:
http://www.thrivemovement.com/the_movie and even watch this movie.
Yes at first you might have doubts… especially if you come from a background which is totally different from the topics discussed… as you go along the movie, you’d realize the points are more related to you than anything else.
The best part is at the end. It is an encouragement that everyone needs – these days.
Today, I resolve to create as many lists as I can! Call it a bucket list, to-do list, wish list, I will call it my life’s list…
It is never too late to start!

I have few people who truly care for me… but these few people have always generously shared with me their lives, their insights, their experiences.
On my Japan visit, I ate a lot of real Japanese food – home-cooked, restaurant meals, bars, cafes and even street food!
Every single bite, I feel very satisfied. Every meal is a reminder to me that small efforts make a beautiful memory.
Since I visited Japan, I started making meals with more effort. I realized, an extra 15 minutes chopping up salads and adding some dressing makes a huge difference to a dinner meal. My partner is happier at dinner time after a hard days work.
Small, detailed, regular and patient efforts in every task create a beautiful product. The Devil is in the Details – as my Modern Tailor mentor always reminds me…
Did you know that 1 hour of cycling lets a person lose at least 300 calories? That’s almost equivalent to 1 McDonalds cheeseburger I didn’t have to eat!
Things to bring in a regular MTB ride:
1. cotton pants and long sleeved sweat shirt – in cold climates, it’s good to have full length pants, wind chill can be pretty harsh
2. helmet – a very uncomfortable head gear… mine doesn’t protect my head when it’s cold. I would suggest having a head cover when it’s cold for further protection
3. 500ml of water in my back pack. There’s no other acceptable type of bag while mountain biking. This is not a fashion show activity, the back pack needs to be big enough to carry water, phone, some money, jacket. Yes it could be cold. You can also bring an extra shirt which is useful in warmer climates.
4. Laceless shoes – this is highly recommended. I personally only wear my regular rubber shoes. But I tie it twice. You don’t want shoe laces getting caught in the gears especially downhill!
5. Suncreen – this does not need explaining.

It’s time for me to reflect on why I am supporting Modern Tailor, because I am a paying customer. Yes, I’ll disclose that I get discounts of course. *Cheeky Grin*
1. I can choose any fabric I like – seriously! I love checks, reds, stripes, blues, yellows and blues. It is incredibly difficult for a woman to find a dress shop that sells decent business shirts – in colors and patterns I like.

2. I can order a standard design when I feel like donning a conservative, professional look. I can revise the design to make it more edgy and modern yet still professional.
These days, I can barely find a shop that would sell a business shirt in the fabric and style that I want. I remember walking 6 hours around the Mall of Asia looking for any shop that sells business shirts for women. Imagine how happy I was to find one! In the exact red/blue color and check cotton fabric that I want! I immediately grabbed it without even looking at the price. As I was about to pay, I saw a freaking bow at the back! What-the-Fart…
I thought, oh well, I guess I can take that off. I was standing at the counter, clutching the shirt, thinking over and over and I decided, maybe I should try fitting it first. So I went in the dressing room and tried the shirt… My disappointment turned into frustration when I started buttoning up the shirt. I guess that collar didn’t really fit my small head after all.
3. I love the discounts. Did I mention that there’s nowhere in New Zealand or Australia where I can find a business shirt for women for less than $90? Not in 100% cotton. Not in my expected level of quality. And to top it all… not my fit. The number 4 reason – a shirt made according to my measurements.
4. Yes you can enter your own measurements with Modern Tailor and lazily order more shirts in the same measurements over and over again – in any fabric and style you like
Easy Breezey.
5. Now, I do not have to waste serious hours shopping for business shirts. Modern Tailor allows me to order a business shirt, in my own measurements, wherever I am in the world! No more going to Google Places searching for local stores for shops I used to go to. I just have to login to www.moderntailor.com and enjoy a new shopping experience. No commitments, no embarrassing “I’m sorry it doesn’t fit, just trying” moments… no waiting in queues to fit 1 item in the dressing room!
